This is it. The BMW 3D Scan Database. Our goal with this is to provide the community with scan data so enthusiasts such as yourself can create cool and awesome things.
Here you can find all the 3D scans that have been done by us or donated by members of the community.
We wanted to make these scans free for the world, but we realized that if we did that, we wouldn't be able to get that many scans because we would have to sell the shirts off our back and the scanners out of our hands to fund this project. So we only ask for a contribution of $20 for each scan, which the proceeds go towards getting more scans (and higher quality ones too).
If you'd like to contribute more that would be pretty frickin' cool, so cool in fact that we will throw your name up on the Wall of Cool.
This database is growing all the time, so check back regularly for new scans or sign up for our email list to be notified about new scans every day.
You can also submit a request for a part scan and we will try our best to get to it. (P.S. the more zeros you put in the request form, the more likely we are to get to it.)
