Hey, I'm Mohamed, but most people know me as Elmoh. I'm the person behind Inertia Werks. If you found your way here from social media, welcome. I'm glad you're curious enough to want to know more before you buy. That means a lot to me, and honestly, it's exactly the kind of customer I build for.

Why I Started Inertia Werks

The first part I ever made was a gauge pod bracket that integrated into the vent of my own E46. I designed it using a 3D printer I had access to at an internship I was working at. A friend saw it, told me to post it in a local Ontario BMW Facebook group, and I did — half expecting nothing to come of it.

Instead, people started asking if I could design gauge pods for their chassis too. I didn't take much of that work on at the time. I didn't own a printer, and I would've been relying on the shop's Creality Ender 5, which could barely handle PETG, let alone anything engineering-grade. I filed the idea away and moved on.

The real turning point came during my capstone project back in school: an Arduino-controlled, electrically powered construction crane, built to 1:60 scale. Part of the design used a planetary gear set to rotate the boom without needing an oversized stepper motor, and that gear set needed to be 3D printed. The school's printers required request forms and long wait times I didn't have, so I started paying a classmate who ran his own Bambu Lab P1S on the side. The first part came off his printer and the quality genuinely floored me — I'd only ever known Creality-tier prints up to that point.

A redesign later meant paying him again for a reprint, and somewhere in the middle of that annoyance, the idea clicked: stop paying per print and just buy the printer. I could produce my own capstone parts on demand — and dust off that old gauge pod file while I was at it. I put together what savings I had left from the internship and ordered a P1S Combo at full price rather than wait for a sale. (One came out a week after mine shipped. Worth it anyway.)

Once my capstone wrapped up that April, I turned my full attention to designing and printing parts I thought other enthusiasts would actually want. A few months in, the P1S broke down in the middle of a backlog of orders, right before I was set to leave for Europe to finish school — so I picked up an X1C on a whim to keep things moving. That's the printer lineup I still run today.

How Every Part Is Made

Every single part I sell is designed and 3D-printed by me, here in my workspace. I don't outsource production. I don't keep a warehouse of pre-made stock. Each order is made to order — which means what you receive was made specifically for you.

My design process starts with the car itself. I measure, prototype, test fit, and iterate until the part sits exactly right. I use engineering-grade filaments like ASA and PETG-CF, chosen specifically because they handle heat, UV exposure, and the real-world conditions of a car interior or exterior without warping or fading.

A Manufacturing Business, Not a 3D Printing Business

3D printing has come a long way since I first got my hands on one back in 2015, and with the range of engineering-grade filaments available today, it's more capable of real fabrication than ever. But I'll also be the first to admit it isn't a one-size-fits-all solution — other manufacturing methods are still viable, and often better suited to certain applications, especially in motorsport.

That's why I never set out to build a 3D printing business. I knew from the start I'd eventually branch into other manufacturing capabilities. Right now that means outsourcing CNC parts where 3D printing isn't the right tool for the job — but it won't be long before we're producing those in-house too.

Every part I design follows one rule: it has to fit without drilling, cutting, or permanently modifying your car. I believe in upgrades that respect your vehicle. Whether you're daily driving or building a show car, you shouldn't have to damage what you love to make it better.
